I just emptied out my 20 long post(here is info on that) and here are the pictures of the new and improved brichardi tank. I have five in there for now, and will remove all males, except for the dominant one. Hoping for at least 1 male, 1 female.

Let me know what you think.

Good luck with your breeding. They are such beautiful fish. Tank looks nice too! (I like the way the bits of blue gravel highlights the blue on the fish!)...........

I just did a little looking around on the web, and it turns out these aren't Neolamprologus Brichardi, they are Neolamprologus Gracilii (I think I spelled it right...) but they are a little smaller (3" instead of 5") and more blue. I think they will be perfect for this tank.

I was just about to comment that a 30 long may ne a better fit for brichardi... But the gracilis sound perfect for your tank! Awesome fish, nice scape, and best of luck to you with the breeding project. :)

^ Thank you, My wife loves brichardi's, and when I brought these home, they are very much close enough to what she remembers as a child, and small enough that I can keep them, and raise the fry long enough to take some into the lfs!

This just dawned on me... I've never bred any cichlids before, but I know that Tang cichlids like a very high pH. Perhaps adjusting their water perameters would encourage them to spawn? I just mentioned it since I didn't see any limestone rocks or aragonite or anything thatwould help to buffer your water.

I have a bag of crushed coral in my AC 20, in between the sponge and the bio media... It does keep the water at a higher ph, but not as effective as coral substrate.

I just don't want to have a bright white substrate with the small light fish and small tank.
