i just noticed them lately. have they always been there?

they are same width and length as 10's but higher. they have black silicone instead of clear and it looks like it was put on pretty sloppy. i forget who makes them. since they are only $19, i was thinking of replacing my 10g's with them.

Those sound like 15T tanks. Personally, I don't care for tall, upright tanks. They may have more volume, but they don't give the fish more room to swim really. If you do get them, be sure to get extensions to your filter to get good water circulation.
Consider looking at a standard 15 - it is 4" wider, and 2" more front-back than a 10. Takes a bit more room, but gives the fish more space to swim, and the porportions are far more pleasing to the eye.

I agree with the above post. Keep in mind that a 15T really will not hold any more fish than a 10 gallon. They both have the same amount of surface area for oxygen exchange. If you want to go bigger, aim for more length and/or width as opposed to height. IMO, a 20L is a good upgrade size from a 10G.

yup. if u do wanna go bigger, go 4 a tank with a wider width so they'll hav more room 2 swim &/or 2 keep more fish. :D

The difference is most noticeable when you try to clean the tank and the handle of the algae scraper is just-not-long-enough! (My 20H was the same way...)

This thread (http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15343) has a list of most of the tank sizes out there...

I've never had any problems with my 20H. Of course, I just have an algae scrubbing sponge, no handle, so I get wet to the elbow...
But, that is something to consider with a tank that tall. A 15H should be 18"? That's 2" taller than a 20H...

It's more that I didn't expect to get wet than anything else! :)
