Just curious as if these guys eat plants ? They are the only new addition to my tank (besides sulawesi snails, and the plant leaves will not support their weight, so they can't get at them), and someone has been chomping on my banana plant and another that I have no idea what it is called ! Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanx !

Not that I've ever heard of.... what else is in the tank?

Hi Vanillarum,
Good to find another sids keeper....I have 42 of them in a densely planted tank and they do not eat plants. I can't even get them to eat flake food!! How many sids do you have?

42?! :drool::drool:

I'm jealous, Debbi. I have 9 & have not seen any plant damage either.

Vanillarum--I don't think keeping the sids with your lovely, new & expensive looking snails is a safe idea. I'm pretty sure my sids ate pond snails, they're only in the filters now.

pinkertd, I just got my first 7. All I can squeeze in at the moment !

fishorama, the sulewesi snails are at least an inch long, with the biggest being closer to 2 1/2 inches. I got the sids to help with the smaller snails, but as of yet, and it's only been a week,I haven't seen them go after any.
