Question:
I've had a dwarf Lion for almost a year, and he's been doing really well. I started him on live food, then weened him off, and I've been rotating between silversides and krill. He's taken quite well to feeding, and I usually can feed him by hand. He sees me coming, and comes right to the top of the tank for his food.
Not lately, though..
He hasn't eaten in about a week, and has been very lazy (moreso than normal for a lionfish) He swims around on occasion, and when I see him, I try to offer him food. He just ignores it and goes back to a quiet spot in the tank.
He doesn't look sick (I don't think, anyway) and the other fish are all fine.
Should I wait it out? I was thinking about going back to live food for a bit, but I hate the idea of "untraining" him. When he does come to the top, if the other fish see me try to feed him, he lets them go after his food. He really doesn't seem to care.
As for the tank itself, everything's pretty consistent. I've been doing weekly water changes, and like I said, nothing else is acting odd.
The only recent change was the addition of a carpet anemone about two and a half weeks ago, but he has his spot, and no one messes with him.
Any ideas? I'd hate to lose my lionfish. He's a favorite of everyone who visits..
