Ok, this may be a dumb question. I already know that I need better lighting but here is my question. I have a 55 corner acrylic aquarium with 3 live plants that I would like to see thrive. The plants are from the Anubias family. The light box has an acrylic cover that protects the lamp and the wires from the water. Would it be best to remove it or does the acrylic allow the light to penetrate through with the correct luminosity needed for the plants?

Great question, I am also wondering the same.

Plus acrylic is clearer than glass btw. Its only a detriment once the cover gets scratched to hell, but they are replaceable through the manufacturer usually.
