I have a half dozen ~1" Betta imbellis and would like to wean them off of live food. They are eating blackworms, but I am also going to try BBS.

I'd like them to eventually eat frozen bloodworms and other frozen or FD food, with live food only to induce breeding or for a treat.

Any suggestions from those that have been successful at it?
I have a frozen sheet of bloodworms in my freezer.

Thanks!

I've weaned several fish from live food by slowly adding small portions of the prepared foods when feeding the live food. The fish will end up eating both, and you gradually reduce the amount of live food and increase the prepared foods in the mix. You'll have to watch closely to make sure they start eating the prepared foods before reducing the live foods, but it's worked for me with some very picky fish.

How are they all doing? Still active and good color?

I'll try that tonight!

The fish arrived on a week ago. Since then they have defintitely grown and show good color. They are still fry -- two red lateral stripes with light brown background. It will be 2+ weeks before they take on the adult color.

I feed them the blackworms twice a day. At each feeding they eat one or two worms.
