I'm new to this whole site, so can someone tell me what the word "bump" means when people post it to one another?

They ran into each other and went "bump"!!
No, actually ppl do it when they post something and it hasn't got responses...so they just type "bump" to get it back to the top in hopes someone will see it and answer to it.
