I'm not sure about "online scans" - so is this a good idea?
Most likely I have some junk and background 'stuff' running that
I'd like to get rid of or turn off. Is something like this a good utility?

Thanks....

I too, use ccleaner and pcpitstop....as well as Regcure, Ad-aware, Spywareblaster, hijackthis, a-squared, Cacheman-XP, etc, etc. Man, I could keep going on and on...lol.
Defrag once a week goes a long way, as well.

Thanks for the advice!
I won't use "Speed Up... "

Can't wait to see what 'junk' Ccleaner and some others might find...

I have Ad-Aware and Spybot.

I use System Mechanic, Ad-Aware, Spybot, Hi-jack This, and RegScrubXP to clean and scrub

And AVG (free) and Zone Alarm Pro to protect.

oh yeah, and IE Privacy Keeper too, works with FF
