I may be getting a shipment of these at the end of June. I wanted to see if anyone else is interested. I think these are on the banned list for export from Brazil. The ones I'm talking about are all locally bred, not wild caught. They will be babies.

I am located west side of Cleveland, OH. Prefer pick up only. I do not have much experience in shipping fish yet. :)

Them would look good in the platy tank!

What price range?

They are gorgeous! Would look good in any tank! :) I currently have a King Tiger and a Gold Nugget and they are both gorgeous and healthy!

Anyway, I don't have exact price range yet but will most likely be around $27 - $35 range. It is a MUCH better price than any site or Aquabid. I will have a more definite answer once I figure out how many people are interested and shipping cost to get them here.

I'm interested! What do you guys think about putting 1 into a 10G planted tank? Is it too small? If so i can put one into a 55G

I think a 10 gal is ok when they are babies, but it would not be suitable for long. I have 2 babies in my 46 gal right now, they are about 2-2.5 inches right now. I LOVE my plecos. :) I am getting 2 x 29 gals ready for them.

I will keep this post updated as I get more response... if any. Fish will have to be ordered by end of June.

Do you mean $27-$35 each for babies? I wouldn't mind picking up a few more L333's just to mix the bloodlines up for breeding purposes, but I would need them shipped.
You wouldn't be getting them from Steve Botts by any chance?

Actually, they may be from Steve, I'm working with a couple of breeders. Yes, approximate price range would be for 1 fish. I do not have exact $ yet as I would need to know how many people are interested. It may even be lower than that if I get some response.

I got my L333's from Steve a while back, more from the same source wouldn't mix any new genes into the stock. He did pack them very well for shipping, they all arrived w/out any problems after spending 3 days in transit Priority Mail.

Might be, but at $25 each and tank bred, I would expect at least a 3" fish. Otherwise, check Fantasic Fins in Michigan and then look for a post by Chris, in Michigan as well, who posts at Pleco Fanatics. They both charge $15 for juvies/older fry.

Oh wow... that cheap. Hmmm.... maybe I'm not getting a deal at all. I was looking at Aquabid and they are not in the teens. Something phishy sells them for over $35 and listed as rare. Oh well, I just thought I had a good deal and wanted to share. :)

I will check out Fantastic Fins. Thanks.

L260 and L333 are currently banned from export from Brazil and the price has increased accordingly. Fry used to sell for $10-$15 on aquabid but are now selling for $30 or more. $25 is a good price right now, even though adults used to sell for that only a few months ago.

The ban may end and the prices may fall, but for right now it's a seller's market.
