This is the best I can do for websites, Jacob...I hope it somewhat helps...

http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/SpeciesSummary.cfm?ID=2207&genusname=Otopharynx&speciesname=tetraspilus

I'll peruse my books and see if I can find any better.

I would personally look for info on any of the Otopharynx spp. as O. lithobates is more widely-known and found and seems to need similar care.

I guess there isn’t much info on the net about the Otopharynx tetraspilus
But here is what Ad Konings writes in his book Malawi cichlids in their natural habitat

They live in the southern, planted areas of lake Malawi, that’s where the male defend a small spawning-pit, which is situated between the plants. Plants like Vallesneria. From this place, he tries to attract a sexually matured female from a group foraging females.
They can grow up to 16cm (7 inch) and they feed on algae and small invertebrates.
In the early eighties they were called Haplochromis Yellow Fin Mloto or Yellow Princes.

I’m not sure if this is the information you were looking for but this is all I could find.

Jimmy

They do look alot like them.
First I thought it was somekind of Protomales but it is Otopharynx tetraspilus

It's got a white stripe across his head like the ahli/fryeri, and the verticle black stripes along the sides... but his head is slightly higher (part of the peacock distinction) and coloration looks a lot like the peacocks...

Beautiful fish, though I'm into the more "vivid" oranges, blues, and reds in my killing machines :D

yeah those pics look dull compared to my fish mine is about 8" and loves the plecos cucumber and zucunnie+the mbunas algea waffers but he has settled in very nicely and is the feature of the tank at the moment (his the only coloured fish ATM) but when all my fish are colored my maleri golds will take the place followed my my protomelas red emrpess

thanks for all the help guys and gals
