Will be on vacation, what to do with the Angel tanks???
Do I set a feeder?
Change the water the day before?
What do you guys recomend, no one will be watching the tank for 10days.

Depending on stocking, big water change or maybe 2 in the week before, certainly 1 change before I go...ideally someone would feed them just once after 5 days...but what have you got in the tank ? (I would be worried about aggression in a cichlid tank left with no food for 10 days) ?

But no auto feeder - too many nasty stories of them failing and dumping in the tank

Got angels and rams, i might have some one pop in and feed in the 4,5 days.
So no feeder, what about the processed food chunks that work like feeders?

no to the food chunks.

are these adult?

I agree with water changes 1-2 a large one just prior to you leaving.

if you can find someone to drop in a bit of food after 5-7 days I would recommend that.
if not..
angels can go quite some time with no food.(I've had sick angels go weeks with no eating)

Thanks as always, 3 silver dollar size angels and 3 quarter size in another tank, all with a mix of rams(gold, blue and bolivian)
I do 25% wated change weekly, keep the water around 83.
tanks are 65 and 55Gl.
Should I do 2 25% water changes before I go, or larger?

If it were ME, I'd do a 75% the day I left. I would also drop the temp to around 78*, so as to lower metabolism while away. It will not hurt them for 10 days.

Leave a pre-measured amount of food for the feedings.

Or buy some frozen cubes, and get some to drop a set amount per day into the tanks or every few days.

I agree with the above... no auto feeders... no vacation cubes. Just do the water change before you go, and get a trusted friend to come by once or twice to feed just what you've left out. The cubes are a good idea, as was the pre-measured flakes. I would leave as little responsibility as possible to someone else. Leave an emergency number of course, and assure your caretaker that the fish honestly don't need to be fed as much as they may think. You may also want to start cutting back on feedings before you go so as not to shock the fish with the routine change.
