Well the clutch I tried to hatch didn't make it. I think I might have another clutch in the future. Does this appear that these two are mating? 53677

Mine does this all the time, I am not sure if they are mating or not. I only get one clutch about every month out of about snails and my snails exhibit this tyoe of behavior constantly, so I am not for sure. I am however wondering about the PH in your tank. The snails seems to have growth lines that may lead to erosion.

Really you only get a clutch once a month i get them weekly.i would suggest just leaving the clutch for best results.my clutch just hatched and i got about 20 babies

Found this clutch this morning. It's in an odd spot so I don't know if I'm going to leave it there or not. This was a different female (blue) so I know now that I have 2 blue females and the gold is a male. 53719

Unfortunately the only place I can get Mystery Snails is Petsmart, and they don't take the best care of these snails. I feed my snails calcium supplements and use Wonder Shells in their tank.

To bad these large stores are out for nothing more than money and the animals have to suffer.

I agree. That's one of the reasons I would like to raise my own snails from the time they are hatched. By the way your suggestion for testing the PH was excellent. I did that a little while ago and it is 7.8. :)

They are definately mating. Good luck with the new clutch. I've been getting a clutch a week and won't be hatching anymore any time soon as I had the one clutch I hatched give me 100+ snails. I am finding that the baby snails that I hatched like to eat the fresh clutches if I drop them in the tank (they are getting other things too) - if you find yourself overrun with clutches at some point you might want to try it.

My babies are about 3 weeks old and most are now lentil to small pea sized. They all have light feet and a few may be starting to show some striping, but it is hard to tell. They all seem fairly transparent and yellow/amber colored right now.

It's possible that the clutch was there for a couple of days already. I put the two snails pictured in the 3 gallon Eclipse tank to see if the other blue female would come out of hibernation. The gold snail kept climbing on her. So while in the 3 gallon, I would see the two snails pictured together, but I have a ton of plants in there and I couldn't tell what they were doing. The other day I managed to take the photos when they were in the front of the tank. Since everyone agreed they were mating I decided to check inside the hood of the tank and there it was!

you may want to remove the clutch and hatch your self as it looks like in the pic that its to damp and wet for them. imo....good loook.

I agree it is pretty wet/damp in that corner, but after cleaning up the tank a bit and getting a closer look, I think that clutch as been there a few days. It doesn't look like my first clutch after one day. Some of the eggs on the side are a little clear already. Also, they were laid on this little removable piece that comes off if you want to install a heater or air pump. So I've decided to see what happens if I leave it alone. I removed the 2 adults and put them back with the other female in the 6.6 gallon. I put a sponge filter over the intake and cleaned up the gravel really well. I'll keep you posted!

This clutch looks a lot more promising than the last one. The eggs are larger and not dry looking. There is some condensation near the eggs in the morning, but once the light is on it dries up a bit. 54077
