As some know I have been battling a weird algae..the closest thing I could find that resembled it as light algae in a marine system.

I had been reading about macro nutrients (lots of good advice here)
I knew my nitrates were not the issue or phosphates..I tested..nitrate remained at 20 and phosphates( I can't remember the number now) I dosed potassium. the algae was taking over daily cleaning and it was out of control.
I thought the algae was due to running out of CO2 but after months of running no effect.
but out of frustration I decided to try macros just in case. follow instructions(liquid as it was cheap and a test)

within days.. the algae began to disappear..it is still there but much less problematic.

no more DIY ferts for me.. I'll dose dry thanks.

I should have taken pictures but it was embarrasing.

actually I dosed macros (nitrogen, Potassium and phosphates)

I have injected pressurized CO2..the moss/algae is nearly gone now.
