Question about background

Do they state aquarium safe?

I think if you submerge it, it would absorb a lot of water and possibly deteriorate it over time. There are 3d ones that are sold for aquarium use.. for example:

Blue

the 3d spectacular one is nice, but WAY to pricey. it would be cheaper to make one from foam and use epoxy to seal it. personally peedib, i just use straight black poster board for mine. of course i would like a nice looking background, but iam not willing to pay alot for something that i might get tired of later.

i was planning on sealing it with epoxy the way you would do to a DIY one. would this stop the water absorbsion?

Sure.. You could do an online search for ones that are made for aquarium use.. If you look around , you may find one cheaper than buying one and the selant to seal it with..

With the right epoxy and application, yes they can be made water tight.
