Mine eat just about anything I can get down to the bottom...

Good info, great pics:

Worms are their favorites. I feed mine california blackworms, flake, frozen brine, and frozen bloodworms.

do loaches only eat stuff that has sunk to the bottom or will they eat things that are suspended in the water

My Clown loaches eat wherever the food is...sometimes they practically jump out of the tank in anticipation of me feeding them. I can hand feed them right at the surface. My Modesta loaches, on the other hand, are much shier and will usually only eat after lights-out or when they are particularly hungry. My Yoyos are almost as brazen as the Clowns and will normally eat anytime/anyplace, as well. I feed mine TetraMin Pro, Shrimp pellets, frozen bloodworms/brineshrimp/mysis shrimp/mosquito larvae, and NewLife Spectrum community fish formula. The latter I highly recommend as it is a slowly sinking granual food that is very nutritious and will enhance the color of your fish, as well.
