I can get 3 L129 Zebra plecos for about $75. I'll have to shuffle a couple tanks, but can have room to try breeding them. Should I go for it?

This is where I'm looking for advice, a concious, etc. :)

Oh yeah. They are unsexed so breeding them may not be possible.

I would give it a shot and if possible get another trio from another supplier. You might want to contact TTA for his advice on them.

I was just looking at Exoticfinds, and they list the L129 as a scribble pleco. Is this correct ? They are listed at $20 each. Thanx.

Thanks, I've seen them listed under both common names. I knew they weren't THE Zebra plecos. I went ahead and bought them. With a max length of under 3" and attractive markings I think they'd be great to breed and hopefully offer as an alternative to commons. I have a pretty good relationship with a couple LFSs and already supply them with a couple types of Limias and shrimp so I know I won't have any trouble getting rid of any offspring. If they prove to all be one sex, I can offer them at an aquarium club auction and recoup my money. Might as well try it out. :)

Not all of them have the vivd markings. Mine is more blotchy. I think $25 each is a little high, but if they are breeding size, maybe...

It is a bit high, but included overnight shipping. Plus I just like them and there are never any "Dwarf" Plecos to be found down here. :)

i found zebra plecos at my petland they where 50 bucks each!

What L-number? There are a bunch with "Zebra" in their common name.
