My LFS has a number of fish that, for the life of me, I cannot identify.

This pic isn't the greatest, because this sucker(fish) won't sit still. It's a suckerfish, about two inches long, has bumblebee stripes, and it doesn't LOOK like a pleco.

These next guys are catfish of some sort. They have spines on the sides, they're shaped mostly like arrows, and I think they're Raphael catfish. They're highly antisocial and normally hang out in a huge clump behind the filter with the ghost knife.

No one in the store knows if these are CAEs, SAEs, or Flying Foxes. They don't have that reddish tinge to their fins, but they are rather aggressive. They like to suck on the sides of the gouramis.

This one is a pleco. It looks like a relatively normal pleco (it's about an inch or two long) but I have never seen this pattern before.

Dang if these guys don't stay still for one freakin' second! I think they're tetras but they're strips of bright orange-red with a darkish stripe. They're the size of neons.

And for your enjoyment: A CUTTLEFISH!

I kinda want to know what these guys are, 'cuz I kinda work there. Except the cuttlefish, he's just cool.

the small one like a neon is a cherry barb
the one that likes to suck on gouramis looks like a chineese algae eater and he might soon kill them!!

1) A mountain loach of some kind.
2) Raphael Cat (I hope I spelled that right).--Talking cat family.
3) Flying fox.
4) Some kind of pleco (but not the common one).
5) Cherry Barb
6) Cuttle fish. :)

I'd love to know if that pleco is a dwarf, or if anyone recognizes it. It's so neat, and I really want it for my tank, but I can't handle a big pleco.

The first one is officially a panda garra.

Best guess-- --Pseudolithoxus tigris

I finally figured out what pleco it is. It is Hypancistrus sp. (L260), the Queen Arabesque Pleco.

Third one is a Siamese algae eater (looks nothing like a chinese algae eater or sucking loach, don't know how people confuse these) and I'm very surprised it's being aggressive; they generally aren't.

Chinese algae eater (as you can see, totally different markings)

Fifth one isn't a tetra at all but a cherry barb.

looks like an sae to me too. definetly not a cae or flying fox.

I'm surprised too, but today I transferred several gouramis to sick bay because they all had suckermark lesions next to their gills. The SAEs were responsible.

Thing is, these fish don't even have suckermouths; they're carp and have no teeth at all.

Agree with squeek, my guess is the pleco is an L260 Queen Arabesque, which is a dwarf pleco.

To me, 3 looks like an Otocinclus. Don't know how small it is though.

If they are sucking on the sides of other fish it'd have to be SAE, be careful, when these guys get big they can kill your fish quickly.

The ones in the tank are well over the size limit for otocinclus. Like, 3-4 inches.

1. Garra flavatra.
2. Raphael catfish (Platydoras costatus)
3. Siamese Algae Eater.
4. Queen Arabesque.

What else are in the tank? That is not typical SAE behavior.

In Chinese algae eaters (CAE), it is true they can get nasty however SAE's are not like that which is why I seriously doubt the claim that SAE's would act like that. And SAE's grow to 5-6 inches only, no more than that.

The SAEs are in a tank with kissing gouramis, a lot of cory cats of different types, and clown loaches. The dwarfs and pearls have been moved out of the tank.
And I swear to you that these fish have been leaving suckermarks on the dwarfs. They're supposed to be peaceful, but they harass each other and the dwarf gouramis (and then the pearls after the dwarfs were moved out). I assume the kissers are next.

kissing gouramis are aggressive....

I will suspect kissing gouramis more than SAE's to be honest. That is still not a typical behavior for the SAE.

Take a good look a the sae's mouths squeak. Theres literally no way they could be leaving sucker marks on the pearls. The mouth locking behavior of the kissers however, could easily leave what appeared to be sucker marks. My sae's are coming up on about 5 years old now, and they have never ever taken a swipe at anything in the tank.

I...physically watched them go after a downed dwarf.

They may not be SAEs at all then. But the picture looks more like a SAE than anyhting else.

SF, it is possible for them to down a gourami if it was already weakened from severe stress. For your information, SAE's are very active fish and placid ones will certainly not be happy with the constant activities.

I think the first pic might be a bumblebee catfish.

SF has already confirmed that it was a garra and not a bumblebee catfish. The latter doesn't suck on glass or it'd seem unusual.
