Buy youself a length of small bore airhose and an airhose screw clamp....Start the syphon, use the clamp to regulate the drips to 1 - 2 per second...job done :)

I knot the airline tubing as opposed to using a clamp, works well for me!

after the dripping for 3 hrs, why not just pour the fish into the tank, as opposed to netting them... the "mini tank" should have already had the equivalent of multiple water changes by then right?

I ALSO KNOT THE AIR LINE TUBE, WORKS PERFECTLY, YOU CAN AJUST THE KNOT TO GET THE DESIRED FLOW......

I never add shipping water, whether it contains bag buddies or not.

Where do you get an airline screw clamp? I was looking, but couldn't find one, wound up going with this in line valve that leaks like crazy.

Agreed. You're basically adding fouled up water to your tank.
