My largest cardinel has gotten a very large mouth compared to the other cardinel 's mouth. Also, it doesnt appear to be eating when I feed. Does it have eggs in it mouth? if so how long till they hatch? What kind of care do the babies need? thanx so much! Thanx for the replies!!!!!!!!

The Banggai cardinal is one of the easier fish to breed. More than likely, what you are seeing is in fact the male carying the eggs in his mouth. If they do in fact have young and if you have them in a comunity tank, the chances of the fry surviving are pretty slim. You need to get ahold of some of the micro brine and hatch them out for the young to feed on.
Here is some good reading on breeding them.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

If you haven't already, make a new thread w/ this as its topic. I suggest live blackworms, and if that works you can try to wean them onto frozen food

fish will eat brine shrimp too. You could try mysis/mysid shrimp as well.

BTW cardinals are noctural, so maybe it wont accept food in the day!
(it just hit me)
