I am making an overflow box for my 125 and was wandering how low to set the internal box and how big the teeth should be, I was thinking 1\4" wide by 3/4" deep. Would this be sufficient enough to handle 1500 ghp? Th box measures 11 1/2" long by 2" wide by 6" deep with 2 1 1/2 bulkheads installed in the back of the box.

The perimeter area of the box will basically determine how much higher the water has to be over the top of the box before it reaches an equilibrium. I.E. If you have 7 linear inches for water to overflow, the water will have to be hgher than if you had 15". The overall flow is limited by the bulkheads, and two 1.5"s should be plenty for 1500gph. I don't have teeth on any of mine, I just use a piece of gutterguard in it to keep fish and large objects out. What you are planning sounds like it will be fine also.
