6.5 weeks old.Only have 7.The largest one is about 2 inches but the gill plate on one side is short(can see in the picture)?Does this one have a chance or should be put down?

The fish will be fine there is no reason to put it down.
That being said you should not let this fish breed as it will pass along the short gill cover through its genes.
