Very nice little Cichlids you have there!!! Love the rock, can't wait to see pics of it in the tank. As far as plants...good luck with Africans, but I've seen tanks (Colers come to mind) with Java ferns and I think Java moss in some. That would be about all I think. They like to dig ALOT, and will pretty much dig up and munch on just about anything in the tank. I found this out the hard way. I had a pretty heavily planted tank way back when and then added the Africans...umm, well haven't had a planted tank since. LMAO!

For plants, try java fern and a crinium (onion plant) or two...I have these with no probs....you can also give anubias a shot.

You're gonna need some more rock looks like...hey I just took about 12 rocks outta my tank during a re-scape...you can have those if you pay the p&p :D

i have a ebo jager heater and i dont know if it works...how can i find out?

ill just go for a walk...about 5 blacks away i picked these up

The heater ? Put it in a bucket of water, plug it in, see if it is heating, use thermometer to check is heating to correct temp...do not just plug it in out of water.

its only a 100watt but it should do to keep the tank at 75*

If in doubt get new one. Also two heaters always better than one, in case 1 breaks.
