looks like the blue one could be a socolofi, however, I could most possibly be wrong, Its kinda hard to tell

my friend bought these at wal-mart
hes new new to the hobbiy, so im helping him out

first of all hes not buying any more fish from wal mart...

Blue one is an m. johannii, the brown spotted one is an n. venustus, and the small one in the last pic is a midas.

i got these froma freind who was complaining that they were eating his fish in his ten gal

i got them in with my cichlids right now...
un ****..a midas....

what should i do

You can keep them in your tank for now (they don't look to be that big, at least from the pics), And then sell off the venustus it'll get too big for your 50 as well as the midas.

not sure about the blue feller...ib3ak is pretty much spot on generally though...oh hang on is he the same blue guy in the shot with the three fish second pic down ? I agree johanni if so.

blotchy guy venustus or livingstoni...hard to tell when so small...looking for an ID on the yellow guy in second pic down ? can't tell from that pic

...the midas I accept what ever anyone else says it is.

The midas will defiantly need a different tank. I'm sure for the moment...he is fine, but before long he will need moved. They tend to get a bit aggressive, although they are wonderful fish and I wouldn't trade mine for anything:)

looks close to the kenyi cichlid, i have one but a lot darker, got it at walmart, looks close to demosoni or johanni, may be a mix
