It's been quiet around the marine forums for a while. I thought I'd post pictures from my tank at random times just to generate some activity. Please post some of your own.
This pic is of the female clown, giving attitude from under the toadstool.

Great pic! You really got good focus through the glass. One of the better pics I have seen on this forum. I have got to get me one of those digital cameras...

Loved the clown picture. Are they called tomatoe clowns? We just got a pair of tank-raised tomatoe clowns that resemble those. I like the vivid colors. As soon as I learn how to reduce the size of my picture files, I would love to post some pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks guys! One of the advantages of a digital camera is that you can delete the dozens of pix that show just half of a fish, or too much blur from movement. I have been very happy with the Canon G3. Spent years with a Minolta SLR, with 10 lbs of lenses, and I think my pictures are better with this little guy. I still have a long way to go, though.
They are ocellaris, by the way. They have darkened quite a bit over the years. I don't know if it's diet or just a natural progression.
I know others in this forum have pix, I'd love to see them.

I was hoping to get this website to where people can upload there pics and it can be a collection of pictures. I plan on enhancing it more with categories, etc. Let me know what you think.
Any picture uploads would be appreciated and will be posted.

My clown darkened a lot in the six months I had him as well. I think it happens as they age. My damsels have all gotten darker with age, and then developed gray patches. I had one blue devil that got this large grayish white patch on it's face. He looked like an old man!

Thought I'd show off the new squamosa clam, too. It arrived Friday from Clams Direct, and my wife has already fallen in love with it.

Very nice looking clam. How big is it?

It's about 4". It can probably about double in size before I have to find a new home. That gives me a few years, I hope.

Very nice. My LFS has a similar looking clam in their display tank. I have always wanted to do a true reef tank, but I've got to keep my fish from disappearing first.

Have you lost anybody since the trigger went AWOL?

No, the dottyback and the damsel look great and are growing. The dottyback is darn near maxing out on size. He is approaching a robust 3 inches. My scarlett hermits are all getting large, and I am finding molts all over the place. Ditto for the cleaner shrimp. My blue legged hermits are growing rapidly as well, and the urchin has grown two new spines and looks great. I even have two unidentified growths (the one I mentioned in the general marine thread) on my live rock, which are getting bigger, and really open up when the canopy lights are on.
What the h*ll heppened to that Niger Trigger I will never know. I am searching for a replacement now. Hopefully a juvenile like the one I had.

Amazing how many people have told me clowns will not "host" to this type of anemone...Mike

It has been my experience that a clown will host with ANYTHING. Mine hosted with a piece of dead coral. He slept there too. He wedged himself in, sideways, and slept. He reminded me of Kearney's kid from the Simpsons, as he may as well have been sleeping in a drawer.

Great pic, Mike! Is that a condy anemone?

Dave, I am fairly new to saltwater...so I am only familiar with common names....my LFS called it a "Pink Tip Haiti Anemone". I have 2 of them in my 150...and the clown is all over them!! It took him about 3 weeks before he even noticed...but now he pretty much lives in them...fun to watch as he wriggles all around in them. Here's another pic.

Very nice pix! Yeah, Condylactis gigantaea is called many things, including pink-tip Haitian. I have never tried the combination, but hear that clowns can irritate these anemones, causing them to go downhill. As with so much reef lore, this may just be hokum.
I keep thinking about getting another condy, but had little success with my first. How much light are you giving them?

I tried to go about this whole thing as cheap as possible (don't we all!). I have 2 400 watt hi-bay halides (similar to those seen in wharehouses) that I got off Ebay cheap! The bulbs that came with them are way too yellow (4300K). I recently found a guy on ebay w/400W 10000K for 26.99 ea. (see post entitled "halide lights"). So I now have these 2 massive lights w/10000K bulbs and a small, 24" "Aqualight" in the center of the tank (1-36W actinic and 1-36W 10000K). The tank is built into my wall in my stairway, so all the lighting and other junk is hidden in an attic/room behind it. It has only been set up since March, so my stock is a little slim, as I stick to an "add slowly" theory,,,,I do have more pics if anyone is interested.

Those pics look great guys. I'd like to see some full tank shots if you got 'em.

I just took a bunch of pix of the whole tank, and will post when I have a little time at home. You know, it's a lot harder to get a good-looking whole tank shot than a macro. All the light and shadows and stuff.

If I had a dollar for every shot that didn't turn out because of glare, the flash, some stupid shadow, or my reflection on the glass.... well, I would have at least $5. ;)

OK, here's the whole tank. I just about doubled the coral population after the frag fest last weekend, so I'll have to re-shoot the tank soon.
