god does not want me to keep a healthy reef.
so this morning i was checking the growth of my nasty red slime cyano when i saw.....

A FREAKING JELLYFISH!!!! swiming in my tank
it was a baby so i hope it get sucked up by my powerhead and dies.
and there is something that looks like a gorgonian growing on my glass
i saw a rouge invert that is either a baby mantis or some other hitchhiker

and to top it all off i cant get rid of the slime algae
im am so close to giving up on salt all together till i get a bigger tank:help::help::help::help:

Hope it isn't an irukandji species. Also - be aware that most larval inverts look lots like jellies, so be somewhat careful about what you toss.

There are stomatopod trapping threads all over the boards.

That more than likely isn't an actual scyphozoan jellyfish. It probably is just a hydromedusa which budded from the polyp stage of a hydroid polyp. Colonial hydroids are very common (as are their hydromedusae), so that is the most probable explanation

Agreed, and for more details on your jelly, please see THIS SECTION (http://www.chucksaddiction.com/hitchodds.html)within my hitch hiker pages.

There are also alot of baby (normal) shrimp or cephalopods that can be mistaken for baby mantis shrimp (if you guess all shrimp like things are mantis). Could be nothing to worry about.

When I first set up my tank, I had bunches of these that eventually got sucked in the intake. They just hopped on around the tank.
