one of my goldfish has popeye and the eye now looks as if it could fall off.what should i do if it falls off?

What are your water parameters? Tank size and tankmates? Maintenance schedule? Pics? Do you have sharp decorations that might have resulted into an injured eye?
it's a 20 g with two small goldfish a few plastic plants but don't seem sharp.It's not my tank but i had to take over after nobody was looking after it,somebody unplugged the filter, which created chaos.Don't have anything at the moment to measure the water parameters

filter's been off a couple of days,very few water changes were made because water had turned very dirty, the filter was an internal one
Buy a second filter, also. Honestly, I would suggest buying a bigger tank now-easier to keep it clean and you'll have to anyways.
it happened months ago i cleaned the water but the eye looks as if it's about to fall.what should i do if it falls?
there's not much you can do if the eye falls off, except take the fish to a vet and have them stitch up the socket. if you keep the water PRISTINE - i mean daily water changes, plus medicated food couldn't hurt - the eye should heal up by itself.
