Hello all,

My toad needs a shrink maybe. (he I'm pretty sure) goes through these phases where I swear he is dead. I find him floating in the water or the other toads with him are trying to push him under. I pluck him out of the water and then he flinches and goes back to being dead. So I move him alone to his "hospital bed" where for a couple of days he is dead, for an hour and then going insane, for like 2 minutes back to dead really. He was just on his hind legs trying to get out and then flopped over and stayed on his back. Any ideas???

In the past, after a few days he is no longer dead for more time then he is alive and I move him back to his "home". HELP!!!

I think he may be sick, how often do you feed them, what is there temperature, what is the tank size, are there any other things in the tank?

^^^yeah, we'll need some of the basic questions answered before we can came to a judgement. Temperature can effect the movements of animals.

So here are the exacts of my tank 20 gal, 5 toads, 2/3 land 1/3 water with some hiding spots for them. The get fed twice a week, live food dusted. It is about 72f air and 75f water. The only prob I can think of is that this guy is the smallest. I do make sure he does get a chance to eat, but maybe the bully toad is getting to him.

What plants do you have in his home??? or maybe he got injured in away, but this to me is another mysterious investigation that i might need from, when did this first happened and how long have you kept him?

I think I have had this guy for about a year. Some of the other have been in there between a year and four years. As for plants just a plastic fish bowl plant that has been chillen from the get go.

This is the second time it has happened.

I did end up putting him back in the tank yesterday because he was beating himself up trying to escape from solitary confinement.

I don't know. I think I may just stick with I have an insane toad. Because the others are just fine and dandy.

It seems weird for me to have to come to this conclusion, but yeah, lol, he's crazy.
