I am setting up a new Eheim 2215 Canister Filter. What would be the optimal placement for the spray bar? I have a 37 gallon (high) tank that is heavily planted.

Do any of you have the spray bar located on the side or positioned vertically rather than horizontally? Can it be placed vertically? The tank is set up diagonally in a corner of the room and rarely view the tank from the sides as there are black foam core boards blocking ambient window light on both sides.

Flourite substrate, two Aqualights (72 watts), no C02, One large piece of Malaysian driftwood, Seventeen Neons, four Congo Tetras, three hatchets, three SAEs, three Ottocinclus, two small Clown Loach, and one Bristlenose Pleco

Thanks in advance for your advice

I think this was pretty well answered in your other thread, but mine is horizontally, on the back wall, on one side of my tank. I have a 45g tank with an Eheim 2128 filter, so this creates a lot of flow. I have the eheim installation kit 2 spray bar, so I'm thinking about taking out one of the extensions and putting it on one side of the tank horizontally at the top, flowing the water lengthwise with the tank.

I have two Eheims Pro IIs. One has the spraybar placed horizontally along the top of the right end of the tank while the other has the it vertically in the back right corner. The verticle bar is in my tank with pressurized co2 added.

I decided to place it vertically, but there seems to be a lot of current through the tank. The fish seem to like it. The plants are all moving around alot. The stem plants closest to the spray bar (within 5") are taking a slight beating - should I be concerned. Can the flow rate be adjusted?
