Hi there! I just spent a couple of hours setting up my new Eheim 2234, and I have a couple of questions. Can I adjust the flow, so it's not so fierce? I don't want my betta blown all over the place like a dead leaf! LOL. Maybe I can turn the valve a little so it's not off, but on both valves or just the in valve?
Also, when I change the water, do I need to turn it off, like I do with my Penguin? I'm thinking no, as the out siphon is quite low in the water, so it shouldn't run dry.
Sorry to bother you, but, as good as the instructions were, they didn't cover these essentials!
Only thing I don't like so far,is that I had to rip part of the background off in order to get the suction cups of the in flow to stick to the tank. Grrr. There's probably a better way, right?

On most canister filters you can slightly close the Output valve only. Always leave the Input/Suction valve fully open so as not to starve the pump for water.

As long as the top of the filter is below the water line in the tank, there is no need to turn it off for water changes.
