Does anyone know if Jungles medicated foods are safe to use in a tank with cherry shrimp & apple snails? Technically the medication shouldn't really get into the water column, but anything they eat will obviously be in their systems..

The anti-parasite meds have Metronidazole, praziquantel, and levamisole.
The anti-bacterial meds have Sodium sulfathiazole and nitrofurazone.

Thanks!

I don't believe they are considered invert safe, that being said,I have used the anti-parasitic jungle medicated food in a tank with cherry shrimp and apple snails with seemingly no ill effects.

The meds have been known to kill shrimp and snails. I would not risk it. Perhaps you could move the snails and shrimp while you treat the fish.

I have used the meds in tanks with a wide variety of snails. No issues. The key is to feed sparingly and don't dump in into the tank, sprinkle it so it lays on the surface.
