UK AC meet [Archive] - Aquaria Central

Hello, thought it was time we had a UK meet so am organising one for 30-31st august.The meet will be in Norwich ,Norfolk. I thought we could go look at some lfs's and go to the sealife centre's and have a bbq.I f you want to attend both days you will need to bring tents or book a b&b in the area can give you names and numbers of 2 local b&b's. Would be really good if your interested if you could post on this thread. Will post more details in a couple of days.Any questions pm me and will get back to you.:dance2:Tricia

Have got enough space in my garden for at least 8 tents.If not there is a camp site locally and B&B's for those who don't want to rough it. Can arrange transport from the station if people need it if not maybe we could work out car share of some kind.Thanks for all the interest so far should be a good meet.

I have 2 small tents for those who may need one or instead of huge ones!I can probably borrow a couple more from my friends as well if we need them.For those who want a bed&breakfast there is one 5-10 mins walk away they have empty rooms as checked today it costs £32 a night pm me if you want the number. The closest camp site for those with large tents who don't want to down grade is 6miles it costs £13.60 pppn or for those who belong to the camping and caravaning club its £7.60 pm me for the number. As stated earlier i can probably fit 8 3 man tents on the lawn maybe more at a push.

i live in preston....ugh miles away. for the time it would take to get there for a couple hours extra i could be at the so-cal meet lol getting drunk sounds super fun :(

Just a quick update i am planning on going to the sea life centre on the first day it has the largest shark in captivity in the uk,sea turtles,reef displays,cold water displays and lots more. The sea life centre is about 30mins away by car,will confirm cost later but will be about £5 each.More info to follow.

Have booked the sealife centre will be a bit more expensive then quoted earlier as there aren't as many of us it will be £7.95 each for an all day ticket so we can go in and out. We will be allowed to feed some of the rays and use the touch pools as well. They have just had some baby seahorses and sharks which we will be able to see. Hope this is ok for everyone.

If you are in UK and have a parent's permission, everybody is always welcome.:grinyes: It's always a good opportunity to meet people across the globe. I just wish I can join.lol

Ok i thought i better post a kind of itineray as its only a fortnight to go. Anyone who needs my address or phone number still just give me a pm.

On the first day saturday 30th
I would like to leave for the SeaLife Centre at about 12 noon as it will probably take about 35mins to get there also we will need to park when we get there so hopefully we will be in by 1pm. That will give us all plenty of time to look round the sealife centre before it closes at 6pm. There are other things to do that are non fish things that we could do if we wanted to there is a reptile place, crazy golf, rollercoaster,arcades etc i will leave it up to you guys to decide if you want to or not.
After we all leave together we are planning a BBQ at our house if anyone has any special dietary requirements can you let me know?
Once we have all eaten loads a trip down the pub is the last planned activity of the day.

Sunday the 31st after people have slept off there hangovers :headshake2: we were planning on going to Swallow Aquatics which is one of our LFS. It also has the good fortune of being about 5mins away from a whiskey distillery so if anyone is interested in a tour let me know and i will try and arrange it. If there are questions or suggestions please let me know.

Aha! bugger!

unfortunately I will be dealing with a house full of semi naked girlies on the Saturday, my better half runs a burlesque night in Birmingham quarterly on a Friday night, and some of the performers are staying over, I've landed kitchen duty for the day LOL and the Sunday will probably be spent sleeping it all off :grinyes:
