My Mystery babies are two weeks old now. How soon before I can tell what colors they are going to be? Mom is blue and dad is a gold.

There is a really cool site that will tell you all the possible color variations, but I don't know it.....SORRY hopefully somebody else does. Good luck with the babies, mine never seem to make it past about 3 weeks so I hope you have better luck than I do :)

I know the site you're talking about. The colors I can possibly get from that color duo (from what I read) are blue, gold, ivory, or jade. I'm just wondering how soon before I can tell what they will be as adults.

They should already be showing their permanent colors. Speckled babies will be striped, and all solid colors should show up easily. If you're having trouble seeing the colors, get a strong magnifying glass. The only ones you'll have to wait for are the stripes. Once they're about pea size those should really show up well.

you should be able to tell now at 2 weeks old.

I can usually tell after the first week. Its harder when they are in a tank as opposed to a smaller container. Can't wait to see what you end up with!! How many babies did you end up getting from your clutch?

I had around 40 to 45 when they first hatched, and I now have 20 to 30 (I never know if I'm counting the same one twice) at 2 weeks old. I bought a pair of magnifying reading glasses and to me it looks like everyone is blue! There are only 2 that look lighter than the rest that might be gold. Also several of them have "speckles". I'd take pictures but it is almost impossible to focus on them.

You should be able to see the color of the foot clearly if not the color or the shell. The light foots will be the yellow (gold) or ivory and the dark feet would be jade or blue. I found the stripes hard to see until recently, but I was just watching the tank and not magnifying.
I've spread my babies between 3 tanks, though most are still in the 10 gallon (and I'd guess there are still upwards of 60). All my babies are in a range from ivory to a kinda of a copper/brown color. Some are very obviously going to be striped or gold, and some are still a little hard to tell. All have light feet and some seem to be striped yellow while others have their stripes on ivory/translucent - their colors are getting more pronounced as they grow. Maybe because there are so many and some are better at getting to the chow their sizes range from lentil to large pea.
So I guess just be patient. Glad to hear it is going well.

I think what is confusing is that the little curly horn on the shell is gold on many of them, but the top of the shell looks dark like a blue snail. I do see the different colors on the "feet". I'm going to have mostly dark footed snails.

I do have one baby that is lighter than light. The foot is white and the shell is almost transparent. I'm hoping I have an "ivory" baby!

oh, so now you're telling me that blue's dominant? the heck!
http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=56348&stc=1&d=1216371187let's just say, Bb is a blue snail with a yellow recessive. and BB is a full blue, because that seems cool. Since b is recessive, none of your snails will be yellow.

if you want to focus better, get a close distance lens, it even goes for small unprofessional cameras, you need to use the macro mode though

The babies are 21 days old - a few photos to share. The colors are a little more obvious now. The fourth picture is the light footed, light shelled baby that I'm hoping is ivory. In the fifth pic they are enjoying snail jello (and some pond snails are enjoying it too). 56467
