I finally got some good lighting on my tropheus tank, so I thought Id take some shots. Surprisingly the tropheus were cooperating during their photo shoot and allowed me to get some decent shots.

Thanks everyone.

Theyre housed in a 55gallon tank for now. I plan on upgrading to a 75 sometime when they get larger. Those guys are about 2.5-3" right now.

Are you using a flash? I've been having problems catching my fish in action poses without it, and the flash messes with my digicam's autofocus... :(

Nice pics as usual, always a pleasure seeing a variety of what's available (think it was your ACA Flame Tail shots that inspired me to get one :) ).

I usually use the zoom and angle the flash so that it isn't perpendicular to the aquarium glass (avoids lens flaring).

I know that much, it's when the lens focuses on the tank I see the issue, and the flash just aggrivates the focusing issues through the glass/water.

If you click the lin kin my sig you'll see what I mean (the botia and leleupi photos are out of focus despite being photochopped, and the Milomo is oddly fuzzy).

Are you using the full zoom? Whenever I try going full in, I always get blurry pics... I usually back it off just a little bit.

yeah, you shouldnt use full zoom, cuz then you have to back away from the tank to get it in focus. I take most of my pics without using the zoom(but thats because im taking pics at 2560x1920 resolution). But I just zoom in a little when I do actually use the zoom.

It's probably the zoom, though I wasn't using macro I was zoomed in quite a ways... I might try another photoshoot soon, I'll try without the zoom and see.
