Well, I just officially sold my first tank! I didn't think I would ever be selling any of them:( I just don't have the extra space to store them, and I have soooooooo many!! But I did get 60$ for a thirty gallon, with everything but the stand. So I think he got a very fair deal.
( Everything included, light, hood, gravel( eco complete substrate) heater, filter, glass thermometer, nets, a small siphon, fake plants, two backgrounds, dechlor, some decorations, and a ton of fake plants a book about starting an aquarium, a bubbler, airline tubing, and a bubble stone)
I think that was All that is stuck in there. ?

Yeah me too, I found my 6 year old rainbow shark had jumped out of his tank, and was dead on the floor yesterday. bad stuff sucks...
Sounds like someone got a good deal! I sold 2 20 Longs, and a 10 with a stand and hoods at a yardsale last year for $30...

I'm so sorry about your rainbow shark!
My brother had a fish that jumped out of his tank and he was very sad about it, too. That's just really sad stuff. :(
And it sucks about your tank. But it sounds like it was necessary for room reasons and stuff, and you got some cash out of the deal, though it sounds like the person got a *really* good deal!!

I hate seeing tanks stored and not being used, so I think that it is going to someone that will set it up is a good thing. If you sold it to a friend you can always visit it.

Hey Judge,
Look at it as spreading the hobby. That has to be a good thing!

I'm kinda depressed too, I was treating my guppies for fungus for a few days and now 3 of them are already dead. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I must be more heartless then I thought. The thought of becoming attached to a fish is just ridiculous to me. I gave away my breeding pair of convicts and my only thought was no more fry to deal with and now I can actually plant this tank the way I want.
As for the tank, hopefully you just passed on the addiction and these people will one day also have 14 tanks to take care of and end up passing the addiction on to others.

I am sure I passed the addiction on, I even told him about AC , so hopefully he will be here researching in no time:)
Ice I get attached to certain fish, I have breeding pair of jewels that I adore, and have had them for 4 years now. It would upset me if they died, they seem to have survived everything, and like to taunt the dog. I rarely ever get attached to them though, most generally, I am more attached to the tanks themselves:)
Selling tanks is a drag on the one hand if they're empty you think they could be put to better use by someone else on the other it's just hard to part with them. Over the last couple of years I have attempted to sell a couple of tanks but when the buyers took longer than expected to come for them I ended up restocking them. Don't they know you can't ask a addict to hold onto your tank. Of course you could always take a portion of your proceeds and buy a little teqila to help ease the sorrow.
As for not getting attached generally I don't and have no problem trading or selling a fish. When my brackish tank crashed and I lost the Colombians I was pretty bummed though.
