Another First Planted tank

This is my first planted tank. I purchased the tank on eBay and set it up late in March. I cycled it with four small Congo Tetras, which I still have. There have been a lot of trials and tribulations. Algae blooms, outbreak of Ich, lost plants, and inappropriate fish. I have done a lot of research over the last couple months, which I wish I had done earlier on, trying to get things right. I have found people here on Aquaria Central very helpful & supportive for which I am grateful. Originally I thought I would wait until some of the plants got taller. However, I decided to post a few pictures now to see what people think so far.

It is a 37 gallon tank, two aqualights (72 watts), 2215 Eheim canister filter, Whisper 2nd Nature HOB, Flourite gravel, no CO2 only Flourish excel.
