A few weeks ago my wife and i purchased 2 German Rams from the pet-goods store in Paramus NJ. On the front of the tank the fish were listed at 3.99 each (but as golden rams). I asked if the price was ok, and if they were sure that was the right fish and they said yes to both of my questions.

So i went back there yesterday with the aim of buying a pair of Kribenesis and when they didnt have any i decided on maybe buying another of their extremely cheap german rams. On looking at the tank i noticed that the fish were this time priced at 18.99 per fish. I told the guy working there how much we had been sold the fish and he actualyl was wondering what happened to the german rams that had been delivered weeks ago, then asked if we would return them (i laughed, duelly). They undercut themselves by about 15 per fish.

By the way, they are a very good very clean store.....with the occasional bargain it seems

Yea, the same thing happened to the other pet-goods by my in yonkers(technically scarsdale, but like part of the store is in yonkers). Very neat, clean store and they take care of the fish well, but sometimes, they really mess up on the prices. When I got my bristlenose pleco, it was labled as $7.99, so I told the guy I wanted it, but in a little while after I looked around. When I decided that was all I was going to get, the man that was helping me was helping someone else, so I had to ask the other dude working there to get the pleco for me. He goes to a different tank and bags one and writes $15.99. I was like "it's labled as $7.99." He then says that that was for the smaller size one, so I tell him that I want the one for $7.99. Then the other guy comes over and they say that they will give me the one already bagged for $7.99. I wanted the other one in the first tank too, but I didn't want it to seem like I was just taking fish for the lowest price I could get. When I came back like a week or so later, the $7.99 sign was gone and it was $15.99. Store error in my favor, collect one mispriced fish.;)

Pet-Goods is also overpriced, the fish as well as the merchendise. I haven't gone there in awhile, about 3 months or so.(doesn't help that they called me like over a month after I placed my application when I had already got offered a job somewhere else) I buy my fish from an excellent place in the city called New World Aquarium that was recommended to me by two great people on this site. I buy my supplies from Big Al's Online.

No, east 38th street by 3rd ave. Look through some of the old threads, look for a topic I made like, "where can I find some yo-yo loaches" or something like that. The phone number is in there, carpguy gave it to me.
