which South American Cichlid are you referring to?
you could be talking about 1 of a 100 species dwarves maybe only get 1-2 "
while others will get too big to house in anything but a tank in the 100's of gallons.

Ask them for a name (South African or South American did it say by the way) or take a pic and post it here and we'll try and ID it for you.

I'm thinking a non-described african fish is generally some kind of Lake Malawi type.

Yeah, most end up being a random malawi or hybrid
