3 tanks and something wrong in each of them. but the main problem is with the fish in my 55g. as of now theres a green terror, a fire mouth, and a convict, which are all getting along just fine *knock on wood* but since friday the fire mouth stopped eating completely and the green terror stopped partially. I feed hikari cichlid gold and tetra color granules. the green terror now only eats the color granules and spits out everything else, while the fire mouth just spits out everything. i havn't done anything anything new to the tank and water changes and maintenance have all been the same. do u guys have any suggestions on how to get them to eat? or something else i can try feeding them?

Hmmmmmmmmm...stop feeding for a few days. Presuming everything else (parameters ?) in the tank is good, they will eat when hungry...is possible the one fish left is a big old bully and has stressed out the other two ?

wow another cichlids aren't eating thread this is like the 5th one in two weeks... well i say dip your food in garlic or rub it one garlic this normally get the cichlids sense of smell going

Or add another choice. Variety is the spice of life afterall...

the convict is actually the smallest fish in the tank and the green terror is the biggest, so i'm sure it doesn't have anything to do w/ bullying. but i'll give the garlic a try

keep an eye on the color and texture of the poo

(gross i know) but a good indicator.

any outward signs of stress??

poo is not looking good. its white and stringy, so theres some internal parasites or maybe bacterial infection. what should i treat this with? And i tried the krill, but the Gt wont even go near it

My chichlids eat a diet of Chichlid Gold, Freeze Dried Blood Worms, Sinking Algae Wafers, and Micro Pellets, which I mix up and alternate each day. Sometimes they will eat everything, and sometimes they prefer one over the other. Today was Micro Pellets and sinking wafers, and they went crazy over the wafers and ignored the pellets. Crazy fish.
