Will different types of Cory school together? I ask because it seems as if the LFS never has more than one or two of any one type.
Also will Black Neon Tetras school with regular Neon Tetras? This I ask because I have 2 Neon tetras in my 55 and would like to make their school bigger but I fear the Angel that is in there would make fast work of any of the standard Neons that the LFS has because they are all rather small and the 2 in my tank are actually pretty big for Neons. On the other hand the Black Neons they have are actually close in size to the standards in my tank. Also I think it would be kind of cool to see both types schooling up.

the black neons will probably not school with the regular neons. they are different species.
on the other hand, different species of corydoras will group together. that is not to say that you should get one of every type, but if you can only get 3 or so of each they will group together. they are still better off in bigger groups of their own species. if it takes you a few weeks to get your group up to good numbers, thats fine. you dont need to get all of the school at once.

black neons are loose schoolers in any regard. I had them in a takn with neons and they hung out together..
however, even large neons may become snacks for an angel.
mine all did..black neons still there tho

i have a question regarding this... how common is it to find different kinds of cories where y'all live? the only ones i can ever find, out of about 5 fish stores, are the aeneus ones, regular and albino... same with plecos; all i ever see are the common ones... but where's the queen abaresque, gold nugget, medusa head, bushynose, etc. etc.?? i take that back about the plecos, there was one shop that had a juvie bushynose for sale, and a huge one that was on display, and they couldn't sell it... it was awesome though... I started a thread about this guy about a year ago, i'll see if I can find out what kind it was again...
Where are you located? It all depends on Law of Supply and Demand, and geographical location.
