Ok, so I was outside, and I was listening to it, and it just shut off. It wouldn't turn on. I know the battery was almost completely full. I took it inside and it turned on again... then i plugged it into the computer and it shut off... and it turned on again, shut off, just over and over, and every time it shuts off i can't get it back on again... it just turns on... and every time you unplug it from the PC it shuts off, and then you have to plug it in again to start it, then it says its charging, and the cycle continues...

What wrong with my ipod?!

Try rebooting it. For instructions on how to reboot your particular iPod, google 'reboot ipod *' replace * with nano, video, touch, etc...

what generation ipod is it? how long have you had it? and do you have a wall charger or do you only charge it on the computer?

For the time that it doesn't shutoff, does it work? (as in can you listen to music) or do you see anything different on the screen?????

I love Ipods!!!! lol... All the music you can possibly dream of at the palm of your hands.!! What more can anyone ask for?

Give us a few more details and we'll try to get the problem resolved. .

Connect it to your computer again and use itunes to restore it. This will reset it back to the latest firm ware and wipe your hard drive. then sync it and you should be fine should take less than 30 min all together.

or ur battery could just have died...if none of the above works....if the only time it stays on when ur charging it is when it's connected - so just try and buy a new battery

I've yet to restore mine - though I've had to reboot it a few times.

Next time it goes wonky, just reboot it. It's usually a matter of locking/unlocking it twice, then holding the up & center buttons down until the logo pops up. After reinitializing itself, should be OK.

Sorry i didn't see this 'till after you restored.

According to Apple they are not... according to a lot of other people (myself included) they are.... it is pretty easy to find replacement batteries, instructions and the tools to open one up and do the job.

I replaced the battery on a dead one that was out of warranty for $20.
