I almost never go to Petco, far & boring, but today saw $4 bamboo shrimp & I was tempted. I came home to research & none of my tanks are really ideal. But those catcher mitt filters on big, big shrimp...1 big dark brown, 1 red (possibly bummed out), others subtlely marked, some smallish hiding on the plants.

Dang, hanging out with you invertees (invertish?), you're bad influences. I'm resisting so far.

Loaches can help you resist, Nancy. I have 4 canas here and resisting the urge to throw them to my loaches.

Loaches! they're the major reason none of my tanks is ideal :grinyes:. & the pangios don't have the flow the bamboos would like :headshake2:, full Q tank... this is responible fish keeping at it's most difficult :silly:

(Saw some p.meyersi today too...& I didn't make it to my fav stores...I'll make do with my new v.maassi :evil_lol:... for now)

Psst... trust me they don't work with loaches. Once upon a time, I thought "hey they're big enough"... poor thing lasted an hour.

Oh yeah, won't work with a Striped Raphael either. :wall:

$4 each? The ones at my LFS are $8 each! I begged my mom to get it for me, I even told her that I would pay her back an extra 2 dollars! I told her this because I never see them around here! I've only seen them twice in LFS around here!

You could set up a 10 gallon tank with 4 of those little filter-feeders and a small powerhead. Another excuse to get another tank! :grinyes:

$4 each? I'd be tempted too. They cost $10 here.

Yep. Here too. My shrimp, errr loach treat, was $9.99 + tax.

Ha! No tax in Oregon. But 10 dollars is very pricey for something that sits in a current and eats microscopic bugs all day. But I'd still get it because it's so cool.

they are cool and interesting to watch and fantastic when they go for a swim. had my 2 for over 6 months now housed in my community tank with pakistan loaches 5"'s and no problems. they dont even go near the shrimp.
