Ok so i set up my 30 gal a lil while ago and just put my clown pleco and baby cherries and Malaya shrimp in there. turns out the cherries like to grow and i have countless berried females. BUT, since there are no predators copepods and planaria have thrived as well. Anything to be worried about? I actually see the copepods on peas that i threw in my tank, quite eerie. mostly nothing but i'd like to be sure. worse comes to worse ill add some baby platies to take care of the copepods and relocate them after the job is done.

What is you maintenance routine? Planaria is a sure sign or poor water quality.

more like over feeding than water quality. cut back on the feeding and do more gravel vacs.

do you gravel vac the shrimp tank? I feed sparingly every other day and still occasionally see planaria in the invert tanks. Its usually a sure fire sign that you need to spend some time gravel vaccing around baby shrimp. I use airline tubing and go slowly. I personally prefer to not have copepods and planaria, lol. Good luck!

once you cut back on the feeding, they tend to die off pretty quickly
