Ok everyone i am going to set up a 55gal FOWLR in about a week or 2. I want a snowflake moray, and 2 more fish that can go with it in a 55gal for ever. I am also going to be setting my shark tank up when i move into my new apt in my basement in about 4 months.. I was wondering if i could by a banded shark egg and keep it in a plastic seperator in the 55gal until it hatches and than keep it in there for the remainder of time its gonna take to setup the 180gal?? If it takes a few months to hatch than i dont see it being a problem in the 55gal for a month or 2. am i right? and if thats the case than will my eel and the shark be a problem together for a little while? And if possible i would live to put the eel and 2 other fish in the 180gal with the shark, if thats possible? if not than i am going to have two tanks than the 55 and the 180. And i was just wondering i shouldnt have a problem with a 55gal on the second floor of my house should i? Its not that old of a house? But i can see the 180 being a problem thats why im waiting till i live in my apt in the basement..Thanx

And would a regular hang on power filter be good as long as i use a protein skimmer with it? I have a few power filters so i could use more than one if needed but i am getting a skimmer so i heard that would be ok...and would sand get sucked up the filter? i guess it would be the same as a canister??

If you've got a snowflake nothing else really can go in there long term. It's just going to hammer water quality too much - eels are big messy fish. Even if you try to squeze in a couple of damsels they'll end up fishfood. The hang ons will help with biofiltration but you'll need a good skimmer and need to really keep an eye on the hangons.
I don't know the effects of poor water quality on shark eggs but I doubt it's good , so no, I don't think you can keep the egg in there. Why don't you just wait till you've moved?
Ditto setting up the 55 - it'll be a p.i.t.a. to move - just wait
