I have this stupid bird behind my back yard, it starts calling out at the middle of the night and never stops till day light. I hate it, I wanna go out wit a BB gun and shoot the hell out of it. SO ANNOYING, I CAN'T SLEEP.

It sounds like a Mockingbird looking for love. He will stop, eventually. Until then enjoy his many songs, I like to count how many different ones he has. The last one had 23!

If this bird is calling out in the night, then it sounds like a noctournal bird.... many noctournal birds are in fact endangered and if you were to go out and shoot it, then the chances are you will get arrested... and rightly so. Learn to deal with it. Given a little time you will not notice it, kinda like a ticking clock...

By the way, where are you located, 1oooop? Is the bird an owl?

sounds awsome... most of the sounds i get round my house are bats.. tho they do have a habbit of crashing into windows.. had to fish one out from under my bed a couple of years back after he came in through my open window lol..

I love the sounds of nature... just a shame that theres not more of them out there to enjoy

Are you sure that it's not a scout from a nearby Indian tribe? I've seen alot of movies where the Indians will hide in the bushes/trees to set up an ambush, and then one will put his hands to his mouth and make a bird call (kind of like 'ooh-ohh-aah') to signify to his tribe-mates that the attack is on...

If that's the case, make sure you save one of those BBs to use on yourself, if necessary... :)

I've heard mockingbirds at night under street lights. Also dove will hang on my hurricane shutter at night , there is an outside light there also. I think they get confused when there are lights around.

I was kidding, LOL you'd probably have to get place tickets to Diamond Bar, California, USA if you really wanted to hear it, just remember, I don't know you ;) if you call out my screen name for some reason, and it's me, Kudos, I'd probably look back and say hello

i'm actually jealous, we have some birds that sing and make bird calls in our yard but the all sorts of neighbors cars turn on and noisy gas mowers start starting up and they all get scared away. i wish i had 12$.

ugh i used to have birds outside my window in my old house that would go non-stop from around 5am till 10am... my friend thought itd be fun to use his bb gun on them (i was against this), but he could barely hit the tree let alone the birds. i got used to them, after about 4 years...

Yeah, sounds like a mockingbird. Sometimes an owl decoy or a balloon with owl eyes painted on it (available at many garden stores) will chase it off for a while.

Shooting any native songbirds is a federal offense and can land you in prison, believe it or not.

Use a water pistol if you can, harmless and will chase the bird away if you manage to hit it a few times.:P

^You would need a Super Soaker to get rid of some of the cats around here. Sometimes it sucks having 2 neighbors that have a dozen cats with a pond in your backyard full of tasty fish.
