I'd go to the Cat-elog at www.planetcatfish.com if I wanted great info on the Rubberlips...

when mine was small it fought with my clown plecos over food but as it got older and my commons got bigger it became more "jumpy" and hides most of the time.

Planet Catfish did a "catfish of the month" awhile back on these guys. That will give you LOADS of information that isn't listed in the cat-elog. They also go under the name bull dog pleco, there several different color patterns for these fish.

They prefer cooler fast flowing water. I have one in my tnak and even though the tank is 78* it seems to be doing well. I do have lotsof current, powerheads are good.

I found that mine doesn't come out much, mostly at night. Or if i do see him out during the day he hides if he sees movement in the room. Not anyhting like my BN plecos which are out all the time.

Mine's territorial, pushes around the peppermint and gold nugget. Takes wafers and hides all day.

i have no problems with mine. it is pretty young and small though. it shares the substrate with my algae eater and clown loach. he hides alot during the day and is fairly peaceful.
