:welcome: to AC! The cycle time can vary greatly depending on how it is done. I'd suggest posting a thread in the FW Newbie section to get more responses.
I was told to go here. How long does an average tank take to cycle up?

Can you provide details on your filtration and how you are cycling? It can be up to 6-8 weeks for a full fishless cycle. If you know anyone with a well established tank, their old and nasty filter media could be your best friend. Does the tank have fish? Do you have a good liquid test kit (this is really vital when cycling)?

Well. I started Friday I think it was. And let it cycle through the weekend. When I got back from a beach trip I decided it might be time to try somthing. So I went out and simply got 2 little ghost shrimps.
Unfortunatly I dont have any test kits. I will have to buy some on payday Tues. Any specific ones? I have Ick testing kits.

API liquid test kit is best recommended. Avoid test strips due to inaccuracies.

If you get a good test kit and are willing and able to be dedicated to water changes, that's a definite option. Just be ready to do large water changes if Ammonia or Nitrite test > .25.
