Ok here is a question I have had my fish in the new 30gal tank for a whole day now. But the Leopard Cory Catfish that I have... well... seems to be schooling with the Sharpe Tetra's... I surmised that this might be due to the fact the the Cory is confused my recognizing the black dorsal fin that the two speicces have in common.. but i never seen a bottom feeder catfish school with tetra's like its one of the lot.

is this unusual?

It happens. Even SAE's school with penguin tetras and that was my experience as well.

Cories are very social and best kept in groups of 4+ of the same species. He may just be lonely and hanging out with the "neighbors"...

ok thanks... i'll keep that in mind... at least he gets along with everybody, lol. The tetra's don't seem to mind much anymore. At first they seems a little freaked out. But now they have appeared to 'accepted' him or 'tolorated'... lol.

One would have though he would have been hanging out with the yo-yo's I have in the tank since he is probubly more closly related to them... but whatever.. can't be freinds with everyone I guess.

Tetras don't have spines under their eyes like loaches; who would you rather hang with?
