well i was looking through species profiles on Dr.foster and smith's website and i found that i actually had something rare in my tank(according to the article)
(Calcinus elegans) Electric Blue Hermit Crab
http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=420+1805+1673&pcatid=1673

i was curios if anyone else has seen this specific type around and if it is actually as rare as the website says.

here is the only halfway decent pic i could find of him, i will post a better one when i get my camera back tommorow :)

Electric blue hermits are quite popular here in the UK, quite a few online retailers sell them...Should be treated in the same wasy as the other red and blue legged hermits....

Let me know if it eats the cyano as the liveaquaria link says...that would be a good find.

I haven't seen many for sale in stores here in the US, but they are at least semi-popular. And the stores can ALL get them, but just don't as often because they cost more.

idk if he does or not, i have come home when my tank had those lovey diatoms on the sand and there was a clean path of white sand on a few occasions, i suppose it could be just a invert stirring it up though.
