Here is the link on YouTube to see what I am "typing" about.

could still be from the mini-spike

any aggression in the tank?

No agression at all. I don't think the spike did it. It lasted about 16 hours and 2 50% water changes. I am on a well, so no chlorine or chloramines. Have been using this water for about 4 months. Acclimated carefully with small water changes added to water I brought with from the old home. Check the video (link in previous post) to see if you can spot something I am missing.

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago, I added a power head for additional movement and it seemed to clear the gasper up.

So, a little more water agitation could do the trick? I have the sprayer bar on the Rena. Water movement is gentle.

Oh brother...now I notice one of the Dwarf Gourami is acting erratically. He hangs at the bottom, swipes himself on the gravel then darts to the surface. He seems to be gasping some also. I don't see any signs of Ich. No white spots at all. The only time I have seens the swiping on the gravel and such is when I got Ich. The Angel isn't swiping herself.

How are you getting 0 nitrate? I know you said you had a mini spike, but you should still be getting some nitrate readings. That could be the problem, try a water change of about 50% if you can, it may not fix the problem entirely, but clean water is always a good place to start.

the spray bar is ok but I found the power head did the trick. I have a canister (XP3) on my 75 gallon, thickly planted even and the power head is the only thing to do the trick. When I water change, I forgot to plug it back in once and it was back to the gasping... I completely suggest another water change and adding a powerhead.

add an air line with an air stone and see if this helps

I just added an air stone.

I talked to my LFS pro earlier today. Full confidence in them! Small mom and pop with clean tanks, beautiful fish and an amazing schedule of maintenance! In their opinion, my plants are taking up the nA. Are they wrong? Should I be adding something to get some nA?

This has happened to us before.

Try to add some sort of additional air supply

Happy to report the air stone did the trick. No more gasping or gill flaring! Thanks for all the help!
