any ways as most of you know my convicts spawned :wall: well i knew this was going to happen... but back on track, im redoing my 55 showcase and most of you have said i need to remove the convicts angel fish and key hole.. ive already moved the keyhole and angels (they are all in with my nanos) the red points dont seem to be botherd by the jacks yet but when the time comes ill ove them to a 30 gallon community with tetra, but i need to know if the conivcts will be able to live in a 10 gallon for life. i always keep cichlids in tanks above 20 gallons but i have no room for another tank of that size. the convicts need to go.. but if i move the fry with them as well will mom just eat them? thanks all for the support with my rare newbie questions

You need to send your Keyhole to me!

A week ago, I would have flatly said "No, they won't work in a 10G", but now I'm not sure. At the ACA Ron Coleman gave a presentation on CA Cichlids and pointed out that Cons usually only have about a 10G footprint worth of territory that they defend. So, adequately filtered it may work. Probably not with the fry though. What are your longer term plans for fry? Do you not have room for a regular 20 (same footprint as a 10G)?

hey if you really want him ill send him your way if you cover shiping, i feed the fry to other fish such as my jacks, angels, buck tooth tetra, etc. i could try and get a 20 gallon but this 10 gallon is going under a 30 gallon that already has a 2.5 gallon fry and snail tank under it.

PM sent! :grinyes:

ive made the choice to sell my breeding pair of cons... i just cant support them with the EBJD breeding project about to start im going to need as many empty grow out tanks as i can get my hands on.
